You and your family can enjoy an afternoon amid the Color and Spirit of Fall in the Whippanong Valley of Morris County, New Jersey.

Autumn is a Season of Family Fun, and the Pumpkin, the reassuring signal of seasonal passage, never fails to bring forth the image of cool nights, bright harvest moons, crackling fires, and the warmth of family and friends. And when pumpkins appear, they take on a playful appearance, alerting everyone that the special magic of HALLOWEEN, with its goblins, ghouls, and witches lies just around the corner.

Order your tickets online with a credit card up to two hours prior to departure. Tickets tend to sell out quickly. Any unsold tickets will be available for purchase on the day of the rides at the onsite ticket office.

Walk among the Pumpkins, Corn Shocks, and Grinning Scarecrows as you enjoy the crisp fall air. You and the Kids can pose for Pictures in front of our very own Haunted House. You will all enjoy the festive fall decorations around the museum grounds.

Take a relaxing, nostalgic 45-minute trip into the past onboard the “Pumpkinliner”. The enjoyable excursion follows the route of the Historic “Whippanong Trail”, and will feature ANTIQUE CABOOSES you can ride in. Trains depart at 1:00, 2:00, 3:00 & 4:00. Buy advance tickets online.

You can also ‘ride-in-style’ aboard our elegantly-restored 1927-era Central Railroad of New Jersey club car, ‘Jersey Coast’.

Feel like a millionaire while traveling in this carefully restored relic from another age. Inside you’ll find that it has the look and feel of a private club, with details like individual leather chairs, mahogany interior accented with stained glass, built-in tables and period ceiling fans. The ‘Jersey Coast’ recalls the 30’s when the CNJ operated its deluxe coach train, the ‘Blue Comet’ between Jersey City and Atlantic City, NJ. The striking paint scheme of cream and blue reminds one of a comet streaking through space.

On the day of the festival, the Museum will be open from 1PM to 4 PM. Admission is included in your Ticket Purchase and goes to the continued maintenance and restoration of the Museum building, grounds, and exhibit collection.

A Gift Shop is located within the Museum building. Snacks and hot and cold drinks are available at the Snack Depot near the parking lot.

PUMPKIN FESTIVAL is staffed by Whippany Railway Museum volunteers. Proceeds from this event go right back into our restoration projects. We appreciate your continued support of our Historic Preservation efforts.
